Representing all aspects of the Hip Hop culture, POAM (Prospectors On A Mission), was birthed in 1993, initially as a live Hip Hop band. During that time, POAM was also a community-based movement that conducted positive music and art programs that served inner-city youth, helped to uplift the community and countered the issues of poverty, violence, crime, and drug mis-use. POAM went on to open two Hip Hop clothing boutiques in Rhode Island, and one in Orlando, Florida. In 2000, they opened one of the first Hip Hop mini malls. Each location were well known hubs for breakers, emcees, DJ's, graffiti artists, as well as meet-and-greet outlets for national Hip Hop artists. The original 93 POAM mascot (The Prospector), represents all who prospect for the greatest treasures in life: God, purpose, and truth.

Throughout the years, POAM has been active in domestic and foreign missions work from local programs, musical performances, and serving the homeless - to providing humanitarian aid abroad. Since 2013 they began doing work in Haiti as a direct response to the 2010 major earthquake. Much of their work there consists of construction projects, educational initiatives, feeding programs, medical support and most importantly, sharing the love of God. Through a local network and friends in Haiti, the work there continues. POAM's newest icon, "The Found Sheep," represents the 180º turn-around. That, amidst this broken world and life's challenges, God can find a person in the most difficult situation and turn their life around. POAM's heart is to see hopeless lives find hope and homeless lives find homes.

As a brand, POAM recognizes how much sports and athletics impact every day culture, especially with the youth. They understands that sports gives individuals a wonderful opportunity to set meaningful goals, problem-solve, overcome challenges, and grow as leaders. Fundamentally, sports helps the athlete to develop physically, mentally, and socially. It allows for healthy competition for the participants, whether professional, amateur, or just as every day players! As sports fans, POAM takes the same approach to their "game." An objective for POAM is to encourage youth to work hard, pursue their dreams, and to achieve their personal goals! The newest PM designs gives POAM the platform to offer innovative and inspirational pieces for the athletic minded individual, team, and fan!
